The Keydet L.A.B. is a leadership initiative that holistically develops our student-athletes through personal growth, life skills, and professional development. The Keydet L.A.B. prepares each young man for a life of winning.
L.A.B. an acronym for "Life After Ball", encourages lacrosse student-athletes to maintain a competitive attitude towards all aspects of life. The Keydet L.A.B. develops equipped leaders, engaged citizens, and prepared professionals.
MOUNTAINEERING equips each young man with the transferable tools to sustain a lifestyle of winning. Through our program's core values, we believe greatness is grown and not born and aim to help each young man become who they aspire to be.

First Classman, Scout Ripley won the 2022 Three-Legged Stool award given annually to the top VMI cadet-athlete who excels academically, militarily and athletically. The lacrosse program has won this award three different times which ties them for the most among all sports at VMI. |
​CODE OF HONOR takes the transferable tools learned through personal growth and applies them through servant leadership. Our young men learn to be tomorrow's leaders and engaged citizens through serving others.
5th QUARTER instills entrepreneurial spirit and executive skills, while preparing our young men for the professional world. Student-athletes gain marketplace exposure through internships, social networking, skill workshops, and an alumni connection through VMI​​.
VMI's alumni include the former Governor of Virginia, the current Secretary of the Army, a Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, Pulitzer Prize winners, 13 Rhodes Scholars, Medal of Honor recipients, an Academy Award winner, an Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner, a martyr recognized by the Episcopal Church, Senators and Representatives, Governors, Lieutenant Governors, a Supreme Court Justice, numerous college and university presidents, many business leaders (presidents and CEOs) and over 285 general and flag officers, including five-star general George Marshall.
